Certified Plant Professional Test
Committee |

1. Determine the need for state sanctioning or

patterning the 2004 educational event after the 2003 successful educational |

staff can mail out earlier and the board can have more time |

to make its

4. Compile a listing of former award winners
to be listed on the individual award nomination form. |

Scholarship Subcommittee |
|
1. Continue to brainstorm on ways to enlarge
the scholarship program. Look into a multi-level |
|
donation
program. If adopted, compose a short paragraph to go on all GGIA printed material. |
|
2. Research
the possibility of a fund-raising drive for the scholarship fund and combine
it with the |
|
membership
drive. Also discuss the possibility of targeting non-green
industry groups. |

Landscape Division |
|
1. Discuss
the merits of having a two-tiered certification program that would include a
designation of |
|
"Landscape
Technician" as well as the current "Certified Landscape Professional"
designation. |
|
2. Make
necessary preparations for the hands-on exam to be held in Griffin at
the Research and |
|
Education Garden. |
|
|
|
Wholesale Division |
| Maintain dialog with Sherry Loudermilk on
the No Fee Cap issue regarding nursery licenses. Determine
whether representation at the March 25 hearing at the Department
of Agriculture will be necessary, and if so who will represent
GGIA. |

Retail Division |
|
1. Report on
the meeting with the Master Gardeners to see if partnering is going to be
feasible and/or |
|
profitable
for both. |

2.
Research touring two retail garden centers and round-table discussion
following lunch and present |

a plan. |

Sales & Marketing Division |
|
1. Continue Golf Tournament preparations. |
|
2. Work with government entities to apply for
outreach funds. |
