The GGIA Board met last week in Athens at the Hoke-Smith Building. It was a busy session for the board as they reviewed plans for the Wintergreen trade show, selected the GGIA award winners and got an up close and personal look at the recently finished landscape project.
Changes for Wintergreen include the addition of an "Exhibitor's Lounge" on the tradeshow floor. This new space will offer vendors a quiet place to enjoy their lunch (delivered by GGIA) or take a customer for a conversation away from the hustle and bustle of the trade show floor. Board members also had a chance to review the Wintergreen Education schedule put together by Dr. Matthew Chappell, Dr. Paul Thomas and Dr. Todd Hurt. This year's slate will be announced soon and includes an all-star cast set to deliver an exciting and innovative education program.
The Board's final task was a difficult one, choosing from the numerous nominations for the GGIA Awards Program. This year's winners will be presented at "An Evening in the Dirr Gardens" on October 17th. Presenting these deserving winners in the unique setting of the Dirr gardens will be quite an honor and is one more reason why you should buy your tickets to this special event today!
