We were saddened to learn that Senator Ross Tolleson will be retiring November 1st after being diagnosed with early Alzheimer's. Senator Tolleson is the long serving Chairman of the Natural Resources Committee who was widely respected on both sides of the aisle and one of the hardest workers under the gold dome. If there was an important meeting regarding water issues during his tenure, you could count on Senator Tolleson being there. You also knew that he would listen intently to try to understand your position and was a staunch supporter of Agriculture.
Tolleson commented that " this diagnosis was a disappointment, but I've never been one to shy away from a challenge and will meet it head on". This comes as no surprise. It's the same approach he took to his work at the Capital. Please join us in wishing Senator Tolleson well as he begins this next chapter in his life.
