GGIA Seeks Scholarship Applicants

The Bill Inabinet scholarship program from The Georgia Green Industry Association exists to serve and support the students who aspire to be future leaders in our industry. The financial aid given is one way we can invest in their efforts and thereby invest in the success of ornamental horticulture in Georgia. Click here for scholarship information.

The program is named to honor Bill Inabinet, a longtime leader in the green industry and a staunch supporter of education. Bill recognized the need to foster a desire for learning and that education was key to providing the green industry with future generations of leadership. Funding for the scholarship program comes from the generous gifts of industry members. Additional funding is provided through GGIA's membership dues.

The scholarship program is open to all Georgia residents who are currently enrolled in a school that offers either a two year or four year horticulture program; in or out of state. All applicants must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the green industry or related field of work. The Bill Inabinet Scholarship is awarded on an annual basis and the application process must be completed each year in order to be considered for any subsequent school term.

Scholarship applications are due November 1 of each year and winners will be recognized at GGIA's Wintergreen Conference and Tradeshow in January. Applicants are graded on GPA, leadership and work experience, references and financial need. For 2018, GGIA will be offering multiple $1,000 scholarships.
