APHIS has announced a new appointment-based scheduling trial for air cargo inspections at the Atlanta Plant Inspection Station (PIS), running from June 2 through September 5, 2025. During this three-month period, all air cargo inspections will require an appointment. This change is intended to reduce Monday backlogs, improve efficiency, and enhance customer service. The trial applies to all industry members importing plant materials through Atlanta air cargo. Regular feedback will be gathered throughout the trial, and industry input is encouraged.
