Shared at the request of the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Plant Protection Division

The Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Plant Protection Division has asked for our help in spreading the word about recent regulatory changes in South Carolina.

The South Carolina Department of Plant Industry has added several species to its regulated plant pest list, including Callery pear (Pyrus calleryana) and Eleagnus (Elaeagnus spp.). These plants are now prohibited from being sold, planted, or transported within the state of South Carolina.

If your business sells or ships plant material to South Carolina, we encourage you to review the updated list and make any necessary adjustments.

To view South Carolina’s full list of regulated plant pests, visit:SC Regulated Plant Pest List – Clemson University

For plant pest regulations in other states, refer to the National Plant Board:www.nationalplantboard.org

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need support navigating these changes.
